Fǎxūn 法薰

Southern-Sòng Yángqí-branch Línjì Chán master, hào Shítián 石田 (“Stone-Field”). Native of Méishān 眉山 in Shǔ. Per the xíngzhuàng appended to his yǔlù: 1171 – Chúnyòu 5.1.11 (16 February 1245), shì 75.

Dharma-heir of 祖先 Pòān Zǔxiān (1136–1211); senior brother-in-dharma of 師範 Wújùn Shīfàn (1178–1249). Abbacies (in order): Píngjiāng Gāofēng, Píngjiāng Féngqiáo Pǔmíng, Jiànkāng Jiāngshān Tàipíng Xīngguó, Lín’ān Jìngcí (whence Jìngcí Shítián), and Lín’ān Língyǐn (whence Língyǐn Fǎxūn). Recorded sayings survive as Shítián Fǎxūn chánshī yǔlù (KR6q0319), compiled c. 1246–1247 by his disciples 了覺 and 師坦.
