Formation. Tonsured at 21 (1630) at Dàolínsì 道林寺; full precepts the following year at Bàoguósì 報國寺. Decisive xǐng on a bell-sound under Ruìbái Míngxuě with formal jìbié.
Eight abbacies. Jiādìng Zhāoqìng 嘉定昭慶, Qīnglóng Lóngfú 青龍隆福 (the source of hào 青龍百), Biànshān Lónghuá 弁山龍華, Yuèzhōu Néngrén 越州能仁, Yúnmén Xiǎnshèng 雲門顯聖 (the Cáodòng flagship), Gāotíng Fórì 皋亭佛日, Guóshān Shànquán 國山善權, Jiāngdū Shànqìng 江都善慶.
