Northern-Sòng Daoist alchemist, hào Qiánzhēn zǐ 潛真子 (“Master of the Hidden Truth”), who signed himself in his preface to [[KR5a0238|DZ 237 Huándān xiǎnmiào tōngyōu jí]] as Shàoshìshān Qiánzhēn zǐ 少室山潛真子 — i.e., a recluse of Mount Shàoshì 少室山, which is the western (alongside Tàishì 太室) range of the Sōngshān 嵩山 massif in Hénán and the location of the famous Buddhist Shàolínsì 少林寺. He is otherwise unknown. In his undated preface he states that he was inspired to compose the Xuǎnmiào tōngyōu shī 顯妙通幽詩 — the thirty-couplet poem-cycle that gives the work its name — after reading [[KR5a0239|DZ 238 Yuányáng zǐ jīnyè jí]]. Coming after the Yuányáng zǐ jīnyè jí but before [[KR5a0237|DZ 236 Jīnjīng lùn]] (which incorporates part of his poem), Qiánzhēn zǐ’s work — and hence his life — should fall in the Northern Sòng. No CBDB record was found.
