Jìnéng 濟能
An early-Qīng Pure Land monk associated with the Èrléngān 二楞庵 (Two-Edges Hut) hermitage. Lifedates not preserved with precision; he was active in the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century. His major surviving work is the 《角虎集》 Jiǎohǔ jí KR6p0096 (X1177, 2 juǎn), a Pure Land hagiographical-doctrinal anthology focusing on the integration of Chán and Pure Land cultivation. The title jiǎohǔ 角虎 (“horned tiger”) is a Chán metaphor for the practitioner who combines the natural strength of Chán meditation (the tiger) with the additional power of Pure Land devotion (the horns) — a phrase drawn from a saying attributed to Yǒngmíng Yánshòu 延壽. Beyond this work no substantial biographical record survives.
