Wáng Shìdiǎn ( Jìzhì 繼志, d. 1359?), a native of Xūjù 須句 in Dōngpíng 東平 (modern Dōngpíng county, Shāndōng), served the Yuán court as tōngshì shèrén 通事舍人 (audience usher) of the Court of Imperial Receptions and concurrently as one of the seal-keeping officials of the Mìshū jiān 秘書監 (Imperial Library / Bureau of Imperial Manuscripts). CBDB places his floruit between 1330 and 1342, consistent with the Zhìshùn-era prefaces (1330, 1333) to his Jìnbiǎn KR2k0002; Wilkinson’s “d. 1359?” reflects a later date of death sometimes cited but not securely documented. He is also the author of the Mìshū jiān zhì 秘書監志, the institutional treatise of the Yuán imperial library and one of the two major sources for the genesis and organization of the DàYuán dà yītǒng zhì 大元大一統志.
