Wáng Tíngcàn 王廷燦 (1652–1720), disciple of 湯斌 Tāng Bīn (1627–1687), HénánSuīzhōu literati. CBDB id 71559; lifedates firm. Wáng is named in the front-matter prose of the Tāngzǐ yíshū 湯子遺書 (KR4f0014) as the editor who, in guǐwèi (Kāngxī 42, 1703), assembled the surviving 10-juan recension by collating Tián Kuìshān’s 田簣山 1687 Zhōngzhōu imprint with Péng Shàochéng’s 彭少司成 abbreviated jiéyào Sūzhōu imprint and the materials being planned but not completed by Tāng’s senior disciple Cài Bīn 蔡彬 together with the clansman Tāng Jiǔxiá 湯九霞. Wáng’s brief postscript at the head of the recension records the editorial history. He is otherwise a minor figure with no independent bibliography.
