Wáng Lìdào 王立道 (1510–1547), Màozhōng 懋中, hào Jùcí 具茨, of Wúxī 無錫 (Jiāngsū). Took the jìnshì in Jiājìng 14 (1535) and was appointed Hànlínyuàn biānxiū. He died young at 38 sui. His critical literary-theoretical importance is captured in the Lùn wén shū preserved in his Jùcí shījí KR4e0196: “Bīng has no fixed shape; by the orthodox, nine-tenths win; prose has no fixed body; by the strange, one-tenth succeeds; the Pángào style is one-tenth of the Six Classics — imitating it and merely similar is still not a constant, how much less the un-like ones?” — one of the more pointed contemporary critiques of the Lǐ Mèngyáng ZhōuQín imitation cult. His poetic qǔfǎ (rule-taking) is between Mid-Táng Qián Qǐ and Liú Chángqīng; prose close to Sū Shì (Méishān). CBDB 34712.
