Shí Cáirú 石才孺, Southern-Sòng minor official, signed his preface to Yòuyòu xīnshū 幼幼新書 (KR3ej010) as zuǒ dígōngláng xīnchāi Jiānglíngfǔ sīhù cānjūn 左迪功郎新差江陵府司戶參軍 (“Left Court Gentleman for Promoted Service, newly appointed Adjutant for Revenue at Jiānglíngfǔ”). The preface, dated Shàoxīng gēngwǔ 紹興庚午 = 1150, eleventh month, third day, frames the work in Confucian-bibliographic terms and is one of the principal contemporary witnesses to Liú Fǎng’s death and Lóu Shú’s continuation of the project. Lifedates and native place are not recorded in the standard biographical sources.
