Zǔyǒng 祖詠
Southern-Sòng Chán monk, disciple of 宗杲 Dàhuì Zōnggǎo (1089–1163). Exact lifedates not transmitted. Resided some years at Xīngshàn sì 興善寺 in Yuè (Yuèzhōu 越州, present-day Shàoxīng); subsequently at Línān 臨安, where he assembled the one-juan Dàhuì Pǔjué chánshī niánpǔ 大慧普覺禪師年譜 (KR6q0063), the standard chronological biography of his teacher. Prefaced by the lay Buddhist poet Zhāng Lún 張掄 in Chúnxī 10 (1183) and afterwarded — with sixty-plus corrections — by Huázàng Zōngyǎn 華藏宗演 in Kāixǐ 1 (1205). Mentioned in Yúnwò jìtán 雲臥紀譚 juan 2.
