Zhāng Rúyú 章如愚 (fl. 1195–1210), Jùnqīng 俊卿, studio name Shāntáng 山堂 (whence the alternate title of his work, Shāntáng kǎosuǒ 山堂考索), native of Jīnhuá 金華 in Wùzhōu 婺州 (Zhèjiāng). Southern-Sòng Qìngyuán 慶元 (1195–1200) jìnshì. He served first as Guózǐ bóshì 國子博士 at the Tàixué, then as Zhī Guìzhōu 知貴州. At the beginning of Kāixǐ (1205) he was summoned to court; he submitted memorials critical of contemporary policy, came into conflict with Zǎixiàng Hán Tuōzhòu 韓侂胄, and was dismissed and returned home. His biography is in Sòng shǐ 437 (Rúlín 8 section). The Sòng shǐ records he had a wénjí (now lost). His one surviving work is the encyclopaedic Qúnshū kǎosuǒ 群書考索 (KR3k0029) (a.k.a. Shāntáng kǎosuǒ) in 212 juan, one of the largest privately-compiled Sòng lèishū. His intellectual orientation aligns with the late-Southern-Sòng kǎojù and jīngshì schools rather than the dominant Zhū Xī Dàoxué.
