Zhúquánshēng 竹泉生 (“Master Bamboo-Spring”), hào of an early-Republican Chinese-medicine physician of the Péng 彭 family. Author of the Zhúquánshēng nǚkē jíyào 竹泉生女科集要 (KR3ei019), a four-juǎn Republican-era systematic gynecology compendium published in Shanghai in 1931 (Mínguó 20) with prefaces by Zhāng Zànchén 張贊臣 and Yán Cāngshān 嚴蒼山, two major Republican Chinese-medicine reformers. The author’s personal name is not preserved in the KR hxwd recension; the ZhāngZànchén preface refers to him as “Péngzǐ” 彭子 (“Master Péng”). The work’s qìhuà cìxù shuō opening exemplifies Republican-era Chinese-medicine reform discourse, reformulating classical gynecology in modernised idiom.
