Mid-Qīng official, Chísǒu 遲叟, hào Zhúyá 竹厓, of Xiànxiàn 獻縣 (Héběi). Jǔrén Kāngxī guǐsì (1713); rose to Yáoānfǔ zhīfǔ (Prefect of Yáo’ān, Yúnnán). Father of the famous Sìkù zǒngcuàn Jì Yún 紀昀 (1724–1805). CBDB lifedates 1686–1764. The author of the Sūnshì Tángyùn kǎo 孫氏唐韻考 KR1j0086 (5 juàn), a careful reconstruction of the lost Táng-period Tángyùn by Sūn Miǎn 孫愐 (Tiānbǎo 10 / 751) on the evidence of the fǎnqiè spellings preserved in Xú Xuàn 徐鉉’s Yōngxī 3 / Dà-zhōng-xiáng-fú-pre-1011 recension of the Shuōwén jiězì. Methodologically: since fǎnqiè upper-character preserves initial-class and lower-character preserves rhyme-class, the lower-characters in Xú Xuàn’s Shuōwén readings can be back-extracted into Sūn Miǎn’s original Táng-period rhyme-classification — a clean philological reconstruction. The book documents both Táng-period entries that have dropped out of the Guǎngyùn and Guǎngyùn mis-edits where post-1011 editors changed the rhyme-class but forgot to change the fǎnqiè.
