Luó Tiānyì 羅天益 ( Qiānfǔ 謙甫, c. 1220 – c. 1290) — physician of Zhēndìng 真定 (modern Zhèngdìng 正定, Héběi), the principal direct disciple of 李杲 Lǐ Gǎo (Dōngyuán 東垣, 1180–1251) and the editorial channel through which the Dōngyuán Píwèi 脾胃 school was transmitted into the Yuán dynasty. Luó accompanied Lǐ Gǎo at the household of the Mongol prince Bóyán 伯顏 and on the latter’s military campaigns; the consultation case-records embedded in his Wèishēng bǎojiàn 衛生寶鑑 (KR3er052, 1281) document patients of high Mongol-court rank. Lǐ Gǎo entrusted Luó with his unprinted writings on his deathbed; Luó subsequently saw the Nèiwài shāng biànhuò lùn 內外傷辨惑論 (KR3e0033), Píwèi lùn 脾胃論 (KR3e0034) and Lánshì mìcáng 蘭室秘藏 (KR3er062) into print. Luó also wrote the Nèijīng lèibiān 內經類編 (lost) and contributed a preface to Lǐ Gǎo’s Cǐshì nánzhī 此事難知 (KR3e0032) in 1276 (CBDB activity record). CBDB id 10033. Biographical details in 新元史 242.9b.
