Luó Cóngyàn 羅從彥 (1072–1135), Zhòngsù 仲素, hào Yùzhāng xiānshēng 豫章先生, native of Shāxiàn 沙縣 (Fújiàn). Sòng Dàoxué master — pupil of Yáng Shí 楊時 KR4d0119 (the Guīshān master) and teacher of Lǐ Tóng 李侗 (the Yánpíng master, who in turn taught Zhū Xī). Luó’s place in the Mǐn xué (Fújiàn school) lineage is therefore decisive: Yáng Shí → Luó Cóngyàn → Lǐ Tóng → Zhū Xī.

By cumulative recommendation, appointed Huìzhōu Bóluóxiàn zhǔbù 惠州博羅縣主簿. Died at the start of Shàoxīng (1135). Posthumously canonised Wénzhì 文質 in Chúnyòu (1241–52). Career in Sòng shǐ Dàoxué zhuàn. CBDB id 25127 confirms 1072–1135.

His Yùzhāng wénjí 豫章文集 KR4d0182 in 17 juǎn (Yuán-period editorial reconstruction by Cáo Dàozhèn 曹道振 曹道振) is the primary documentary witness to the Yáng → Luó → Lǐ → Zhū lineage. Notable contents: the Zūn Yáo lù 遵堯錄 in 8 juǎn (Luó’s main historical-philosophical treatise on imperial conduct); a 1-juǎn compilation of teachings from the two Chéng’s and from Yáng Shí (Luó’s master); 2 juǎn of zázhù; 1 juǎn of poetry; 3 juǎn of fùlù; 1 juǎn of wàijí. Juǎn 1 (originally classical exegesis) has been lost — only the listing remains.
