Luó Bì 羅璧 (1244–1309), zì Zǐcāng 子蒼, hào Mògēng 嘿耕 (“Silent Tiller”), of Xīn’ān 新安 (modern Huīzhōu, Anhui). A Sòng yímín loyalist who lived through the conquest of 1276 into the Yuán without holding office under the new dynasty. The Sòng shǐ carries no biography; his identification rests on internal evidence in the Zhì yí 識遺 (KR3j0056) and on later genealogical and gazetteer records. A private Chéng-Zhū-school philologist whose actual scholarship was overwhelmingly empirical-evidential rather than metaphysical. CBDB id 112837 (lifedates 1244–1309, flourished 1270–1299). Several homonyms (a 羅璧 1531– of Míng, several without dates) exist in CBDB and are distinct.
