High-Qīng (Qián-lóng-era) Buddhist layman, born 1736 (乾隆 1, qiányī). Shǔjiū 曙鳩, sobriquets Biàntáng 辨堂 and Dànshēng 澹生. Co-compiler with Wáng Xīguǎn 王錫琯 of the Jīngāng jīng qiǎnjiě 金剛經淺解 (KR6c0078, X25 no. 490) — a one-juan accessible Vajracchedikā commentary in the qiǎnjiě (“shallow explanation”) devotional-pedagogy genre, prefaced for the printed edition in Kāngxī 20 = 1681 (康熙辛酉; the dating of the printed edition pushes the original composition to before Wēng’s birth — the recipient line credits the two compilers, but the date suggests an antedated authorship convention or that the work was actually by an earlier hand transmitted under their names — see entry note for KR6c0078).
