Late-Míng (Wànlì-era) physician and official of Qīngjiāng 清江 (Jiāngxī), of the Xūjiāng 旴江 medical lineage. Wànlì xiāng jìnshì (provincial-examination success) and magistrate of Nínghuà 寧化 (Tīngzhōu prefecture, Fújiàn). His clinical specialty was paediatrics and smallpox (dòuzhěn 痘疹). Best known by his zì Jiǔwú 久吾. His principal works are Huóyòu xīnfǎ 活幼心法 (= Dòuzhěn huóyòu xīnfǎ 痘疹活幼心法, earliest extant edition Wànlì 44 / 1616, the principal late-Míng paediatric-smallpox handbook), Yīxué huìhán 醫學彙函, and KR3er127 Qíxiào yīshù 奇效醫述 (c. 1620), a post-magistracy clinical case-record collection whose appended zhì wēnyì fāngfǎ 治瘟疫方法 explicitly distinguishes pestilence treatment from shānghán methods — antedating Wú Yòukě’s Wēnyì lùn by two decades.
