Hú Ānguó 胡安國 (1074–1138), zì Kānghóu 康侯, posthumously Wéndìnggōng 文定公, also called Wǔyí xiānsheng 武夷先生, was a major Northern–Southern Sòng transition classicist and Chūnqiū specialist. Native of Chóngān 崇安 (Fújiàn). Jìnshì of Shàoshèng 4 (1097); rose under Huīzōng to Tàicháng bóshì; out of office during the Cài Jīng dominance, returning under Gāozōng. His magnum opus is the Chūnqiū chuán 春秋傳 — the standard Southern-Sòng Chūnqiū commentary, designated authoritative by the imperial Sìshū wǔjīng dàquán under Yǒnglè (1415) and the principal Chinese Chūnqiū commentary in the Korean and Japanese reception. He is the founder of the Húshì 胡氏 Chūnqiū school continued by his son Hú Hóng 胡宏, his nephew Hú Yìn 胡寅, and others. He is also responsible (with Zēng Tián) for one of the two principal early yǔlù-records of Xiè Liángzuǒ’s teaching, preserved within the Shàngcài yǔlù (KR3a0039). Biography: Sòng shǐ j. 435.
