Hú Xícān 胡襲參

Self-styled Xiāoxiāozǐ 囂囂子. Qīng-period calendrical writer. No CBDB record located; no biographical detail recovered from the standard prosopographies. The chosen self-style 囂囂子 — adapted from the Mèngzǐ, where 囂囂 connotes “self-sufficient and untroubled” — is consistent with a commoner-recluse posture rather than a court or examination-system career.

Author of KR3fb020 Xiāoxiāozǐ lì jìng 囂囂子曆鏡 in 3 juàn, a calendrical-historical compendium that recites the Chinese calendar tradition diachronically from the Yellow Emperor through the Yuán Shòushí lì of Guō Shǒujìng. The terminus of the survey at the Yuán reform — without engagement with the Shíxiàn / Western methods — is consistent with an early- or mid-Qīng dating but does not by itself prove that he was unaware of the post-1645 reform.
