Gé Xīn 葛昕, zì Yòumíng 幼明, hào Lóngchí 龍池; native of Dépíng 德平 (modern Línyí prefecture, Shāndōng). Floruit Wànlì era of the Míng. He entered office yǐn 蔭 (by hereditary privilege) and was first appointed Dūdūfǔ dūshì (administrative officer in the Chief Military Commission), where he intervened decisively to secure the noble succession of Xuē Zhèng 薛鋹, Marquis of Yángwǔ 陽武侯 (whose impoverishment had nearly cost him the patent). Promoted to Gōngbù Túntiánsī lángzhōng (Director, Bureau of Military Colonies, Ministry of Works), he sponsored the radical reduction of the Xīxīnsī 惜薪司 (Bureau of Firewood) charcoal quota by over a million catties and the cashiering of 561 eunuchs from the imperial workshops — a project that nearly cost him his life but was carried through after three successive memorials. He later remonstrated, unsuccessfully, against the lavish posthumous honours claimed by the imperial in-law Zhèng Fú 鄭福 (relative of the Zhèng noble consort), winning admiration from the empire even in defeat. He rose to Shàngbǎosī qīng 尚寳司卿 (Director of the Office of Imperial Seals). His memorial regarding the Dàyùshān 大峪山 Shòugōng (Wànlì emperor’s mausoleum) survives in the collection and is dated to the ninth month of Wànlì 12 (= 1584). No firm lifedates have been recovered; he was thus active circa 1580–1610. His surviving prose and verse were edited posthumously by his son Gé Rúlóng 葛如龍 as the Jíyùshānfáng gǎo 集玉山房稿 (KR4e0237) in ten juǎn. No confirmed CBDB record.
