Dǒng Jì 董紀 (active 1382–c. 1430), Liángshǐ 良史 (conventionally used in place of his personal name; alternate Shùfū 述夫), native of Shànghǎi 上海. Raised by Xiánliáng fāngzhèng 賢良方正 in Hóngwǔ 15 (1382); on the strength of his court duìcè (policy response) appointed Jiāngxī ànchá shǐ qiānshì 江西按察使僉事; soon retired to a private studio called Xījiāo cǎotáng 西郊草堂 (which gave the name to his collection). Teacher of 周鼎 Zhōu Dǐng 周鼎 (1401–1487, the mid-Míng painter and bǐjì author of the early Sūzhōu painting circle that culminated in Shěn Zhōu of the Wú school 吳派). The Xījiāo xiàoduān jí KR4e0052 manuscript was preserved by Zhōu Dǐng’s family and first cut in Chénghuà era by Zhōu Dǐng’s grandson Zhōu Xiáng 周庠 (then Guānglù sì shàoqīng 光祿寺少卿) with prefaces by Qián Pǔ 錢溥 (1468) and Zhāng Rǔbì 張汝弼. The Sìkù editors position Dǒng in the YuánBáiZhāngWáng 元白張王 late-Táng xīn yuèfǔ tradition. CBDB id 34391 records the name and Míng dynasty but no dates.
