Dǒng Yuè 董越 (1431–1502), Shàngjǔ 尚矩, hào Guīfēng 圭峰; posthumous title Wénxī 文僖. Native of Níngdū 寧都 in Jiāngxī. Mid-Míng official, Confucian scholar, and -composer. Chénghuà 5 jìnshì (1469); held office as Hànlín bīanxiū, then Yòu chūnfáng yòu shùzǐ; concurrently Hànlínyuàn shìjiǎng. In Hóngzhì 1 (1488) at Xiàozōng’s accession he was sent as Míng ambassador to Chosŏn, accompanied by Xíngkē jǐshìzhōng Wáng Chǎng — composed the Cháoxiān fù 朝鮮賦 (KR2k0143) on the basis of his observations during the mission. Eventually rose to Nánjīng Gōngbù shàngshū. Other extant works: Wénxī jí 文僖集 in 42 juan (collected literary works); Shǐ Dōng rìlù 使東日錄 (a separate diary of the Korea mission).
