Cài Déjìn 蔡德晉 (Qīng, fl. 1726–1737, CBDB id 125397 has fl. earliest 1737, fl. latest 1766; the catalog meta gives the work-completion date 1726). Zì Jìngzhāi 敬齋. Native of Wúxī 無錫 (modern Wúxī, Jiāngsū). Held minor office as a Gōngbù sīwù 工部司務 (Junior Officer of the Board of Works), recommended for the Sānlǐ commission (KR1d0018 KR1d0037 KR1d0068) under early Qiánlóng.
Author of KR1d0044 Lǐjīng běnyì 禮經本義 in 17 juan — a commentary on the Yílǐ (KR1d0025) drawing extensively on SòngYuánMíng commentary tradition cross-referenced with the zhùshū. The seventeenth juan appends Wú Chéng’s KR1d0034 eight-chapter Yílǐ yìjīng reconstruction. The Sìkù tíyào judges the work as having both lapses (notably his uncritical adoption of Wàn Sīdà’s KR1d0039 kuētóu reading) and substantial contributions (notably his careful distinction between the hair-securing jī and the cap-securing jī, against Áo Jìgōng’s reading).
