Zōkai 藏海 (Zànghǎi; also recorded as Genkū Zōkai 玄空藏海), Japanese Sanron 三論 monk of the early Heian period (dates not securely documented; conventionally placed in the 8th–9th century, roughly contemporary with or shortly after 安澄 Anchō, 763–814). Author of KR6m0011 Shí’èrmén lùn shū wénsī jì 十二門論疏聞思記 (T65n2257), a single-fascicle lecture-record (kikigaki) on 吉藏 Jízàng’s Shí’èrmén lùn shū (T1825 = KR6m0009), preserving the early Japanese Sanron oral exegesis of Jízàng’s preface. A separate twentieth-century Sōtō Zen monk also named 藏海 (DILA A037695, “大實藏海” Daijitsu Zōkai) is unrelated.
