LiángChén dynasty scholar-official and ritual antiquary; zì Shānpī 山披, of Yúyáo 餘姚 in Kuàijī 會稽 (present-day Zhèjiāng). Lifedates 503–561 per Chénshū and catalog meta; posth. shì “Dé 德.” Began official career under the Liáng as Xīzhōngláng xíngcānjūn 西中郎行參軍, rose to Zhōngshū shèrén 中書舍人. With the Hóu Jǐng 侯景 disorder he retired to his native place; under the early Chén he was summoned by Chén Wǔdì to be Tàizǐ zhōngshùzǐ 太子中庶子, then Lǐng dàzhùzuò 領大著作 (Director of the Imperial Histories), and Dōngyáng and Yángzhōu èrzhōu dàzhōngzhèng 二州大中正. Died in Chén Tiānjiā 2 (561), posthumously honoured with the rank of Shìzhōng 侍中. Author of KR3h0084 Dǐng lù 鼎錄, the earliest surviving Chinese register of ritual tripods and bronze vessels, although the transmitted text has been substantially interpolated by post-Chén hands. The catalog meta and the WYG title-page misidentify him as a Liáng author; the standard sources establish him as principally a Chén-period writer.
