Péi Tíngyù 裴庭裕 (fl. 880s–890s), zì Yīngyú 膺餘 (alternate writing 廷裕), was a late-Táng court official from Wénxǐ 聞喜 (modern Shānxī), of the Eastern Branch (dōngjuàn 東眷) of the great Hédōng Péi 河東裴 clan; his pedigree appears in the “Chancellors’ Family Tables” (zǎixiàng shìxì biǎo 宰相世系表) of the Xīn Tángshū. He held the office of Right Reminder (yòu bǔquē 右補闕) and served in the Bureau of Historiography (shǐguǎn 史館). In Lóngjì 1 (889) he was assigned by chief minister Dù Ràngnéng 杜讓能 to one of the five-scholar teams charged with compiling the Sānshèng shílù 三聖實錄, with specific responsibility for the Xuānzōng shílù 宣宗實錄. Because the daily qǐjū zhù 起居注 records of Xuānzōng’s reign had been entirely destroyed in the late-Táng wars, he gathered oral testimony and produced a 3-juǎn draft, the Dōngguān zòujì 東觀奏記 KR2e0008, submitted to Dù Ràngnéng for archiving — the formal Xuānzōng shílù itself was apparently never completed. During the Qiánníng 乾寧 reign (894–898) he was at the inner court and earned the nickname xiàshuǐ chuán 下水船 (“down-stream boat”) for the speed of his official drafting. The catalog meta entry for his work writes the surname as 斐 in error.
