Early-Qīng Buddhist monk; style Chéngjiǎn 成簡, religious name Xīzōng 西宗 (DILA A000429). Birth-date not preserved; died Kāngxī 26th year (1687/88), 12th lunar month (the Jīn’ésì zhì 金峩寺志, juan 5, says he “fell gravely ill at the close of Kāngxī dīngmǎo and laid down his brush”). Tonsured at Jīn’ésì 金峩寺 in Níngbō under the precept-master Lǚpíng Zhìxián 履平智賢 (1608–1673), whose dharma-heir he became after a long period of canon-reading retreat. He successively held abbacies at Lóngzhùsì 龍住寺 in Xīxiāng 西鄉, Pǔqiūsì 普邱寺, Dìngqiáosì 定橋寺 and Jiāngxīnsì 江心寺. His one surviving work is the Cíbēi dàochǎng shuǐchànfǎ kēzhù 慈悲道場水懺法科註 (KR6k0203, X1496), a sub-section commentary on the Táng Shuǐ chàn, completed at Lóngzhùsì in his last years and left fractionally incomplete at his death.
