Xǔ Kèchāng 許克昌 (zì Lúnshēng 倫聲, fl. late Qiánlóng – Dàoguāng, 清), Hézhōu 和州 (Ānhuī) National-Academy student (國學生). A reclusive scholar-physician who divided his time between mountain seclusion at home and itinerant practice in the lower Yangtze. The author of KR3ek001 Wàikē zhèngzhì quánshū 外科證治全書 (5 juǎn, first printed Dàoguāng 11 = 1831 at the urging of the salt-tax commissioner Chéng Huáijǐng 程懷璟; reprinted 1865 and 1867), assembled out of more than twenty years of clinical practice supplementing the unfinished draft of his deceased friend 畢法 Bì Cānglín. Reported to be in his eighties at the time of the editio princeps, suggesting birth in the mid-1740s, but no firm lifedates are documented. Xǔ trained medically under the Dōngtái physician Zhōu Shūxuān 周舒軒 and previously published editions of Zhèng Xībīn’s 鄭西賓 Dòuzhèng bìdú 痘證必讀 and a reconstruction of Gěng Rénzhāi’s 耿仁齋 Mákē míngjìng 麻科明鏡.
