Xǔ Róng 許容 (b. unknown, d. Qiánlóng 16 = 1751), native of Yúchéng 虞城 (Guīdé prefecture, modern Hénán). His Yōngzhèng career: Sùzhōu 肅州 zhōu official; Gānsù governor (Yōngzhèng 7 = 1729 – Qiánlóng 1 = 1736), in which capacity he commissioned and substantively directed the foundational Gānsù tōngzhì (KR2k0051) from 1729 through to its completion in 1736. The catalog meta dates him “fl. 1640–1723” — this is incorrect: it conflates him with an earlier Míng homonym Xǔ Róng (CBDB 99290, 1127–1139 fl., or another). The relevant Yōngzhèng-era figure is CBDB 58655, with death year 1751 per the Qīngdài rénwù shēngzú niánbiǎo; index_addr 8096 (Yúchéng) confirmed; floruit runs from 1720s through 1750. Followed here. Qīng shǐ lièzhuàn j. 78 has his biography.
