Xǔ Shàngzhì 許尚質 (b. 1659; CBDB index year 1659), zì Yòuwén 又文 / 幼文, hào Xiǎonè 小訥, native of Shānyīn 山陰 (Shàoxīng, Zhèjiāng). Early Qīng literary man and Daoist sympathiser; he contributed the long parallel-prose preface (piánwén) to 蔣國祚’s commentary on the Huáng tíng nèi jǐng jīng in the Dào zàng jí yào (KR5i0011), surveying the Yellow-Court tradition from the Hàn through the Táng with characteristic Shào-xīng-style erudition; his preface invokes Lǐ Yèhóu, Sūn Sīmiǎo, the Hán Gǔ encounter of Lǎo zǐ and Yǐn Xǐ, and the Jiǎngshì brothers as “san jué” (three peerless ones) of “the Xǔ family treasure.” The signature reads Shānyīn Xǔ Shàngzhì Yòuwénshì zhuàn 山陰許尚質又文氏譔.
