Xǔ Sōng 許嵩, mid-Táng historian active in the reign of HànSùzōng 唐肅宗 (756–762). His one surviving work, the Jiànkāng shílù 建康實錄 (KR2d0003), terminates its computational synchronisation in Zhìdé 1 / bǐngshēn (756), which fixes his floruit; the work was probably presented shortly after that date. He signs himself “of Gāoyáng 高陽” — a jùnwàng 郡望 (claimed clan-seat in Hébĕi) rather than a place of birth or office, and nothing else is known about his life. CBDB id 195045 (death year 758, no other particulars). The Jiànkāng shílù is the principal surviving Táng synthesis on the Six Dynasties at Jiànkāng (Nánjīng) and is heavily used by later scholars (Zhāng Yànyuǎn 張彥遠, Liú Xīzhòng 劉羲仲, Sīmǎ Guāng 司馬光) for evidence on the Wú, Eastern Jìn, Sòng, Qí, Liáng, and Chén courts.
