Xiè È 謝諤 (1121–1194), zì Chāngguó 昌國, hào Gènzhāi 艮齋 and Guìshān lǎorén 桂山老人. Native of Xīngàn 新淦, Lúlíng 廬陵 prefecture (mod. Jiāngxī). Jìnshì of Shàoxīng 27 (1157). Successively held posts as Yǒngfēng magistrate, Húběi and Jiāngxī judicial intendant, censor (Yùshǐ zhōngchéng 御史中丞), and finally Yǐzhèngdiàn xuéshì 議政殿學士. A close associate of 朱熹 Zhū Xī and an active member of the late-twelfth-century dàoxué circle; his writings include the Gènzhāi jí 艮齋集 and the Xìngshàntángyǔlù 性善堂語錄. He was one of the four Jiāngxī literati friends of 曾敏行 Zēng Mǐnxíng and wrote the postface to 曾敏行’s Dúxǐng zázhì KR3l0073. Posthumous title Wényì 文懿.
