Zhào Shànliáo 趙善璙 (b. 1153, fl. Duānpíng 1234–1236). Sòng imperial-clansman, seventh-generation descendant of Tàizōng (the second Sòng emperor, Tàizǔ’s younger brother and successor). Family settled at Nánhǎi 南海 (in modern Guǎngdōng). Served in administrative posts, reaching Prefect of Jiāngzhōu 江州 during the Duānpíng reign (1234–1236) of Lǐzōng. During this prefectship he compiled the Zì jǐng biān 自警編 (KR3j0183) in 9 juàn — a topical compendium of Sòng worthy-figures’ words and deeds modeled on Zhū Xī’s Bā cháo yán xíng lù. No further details of his career are documented in the standard histories.
