Late-Míng paleographer, zhuàn-script calligrapher, and antiquarian recluse; Fánfū 凡夫, hào Hánshānzǐ 寒山子; descended from the Sòng imperial clan, of Wúxiàn 吳縣 (Sūzhōu). Lifedates 1559–1625 per catalog meta. Lived as a recluse at Hánshān 寒山 (south of Sūzhōu) with his wife Lù Qīngzī 陸卿子, a major poet; the Hánshān residence became a centre of late-Míng antiquarian culture. Author of the KR3h0051 Hánshān zhǒután 寒山帚談 (extracted from his larger Shuōwén chángjiān 說文長箋, a deeply unreliable but ambitious paleographic compendium); the systematic calligraphic doctrine of his zhuàn-script practice. Famed in his time as the principal innovator of cǎozhuàn 草篆 (cursive seal-script). His son Zhào Líntián 趙均 (1591–1641) continued the family seal-script tradition.
