Xīn Shì 辛氏 (fl. late Eastern Han–early Wei, late 2nd–early 3rd century CE) was a geographic writer known only by the surname Xīn 辛; the given name is unknown. The Xīn 辛 clan was a powerful family from Lǒngdōng 隴東 (eastern Gansu) active in late Han politics. Xīn Shì is the author of a Sān Qín jì 三秦記 (KR2k0167), a geographic record of the Guanzhong (former Qin) region. The work is cited as “辛氏三秦記” in the Shuǐjīng zhù 水經注 and other Six Dynasties sources, establishing its pre-Northern Wei circulation. The work was reconstructed by Zhāng Shù 張澍 and Bì Yuǎn 畢沅 in the Qing dynasty.
