Dàozǔ 道祖, an Eastern-Jìn Buddhist monk-scholar, served as Chinese-language scribe (筆受 bǐshòu) at the Dōngtíng Monastery 東亭寺 in Jiànkāng for 瞿曇僧伽提婆 Saṃghadeva during the translation of the Zhōng āhán jīng 中阿含經 (KR6a0026) in Lóng’ān 隆安 1–2 (397–398). The translation byline of T26 is the principal contemporary notice of his activity; no independent biography survives.
