YuánMíng yímín scholar, Hóngdào 宏道, of Wú 吳 (Sūzhōu, Jiāngsū); claims Luòyì 洛邑 as his ancestral place. CBDB lifedates 1301–1375 (cbdbId 104372). The Jiāngnán tōngzhìRúlín zhuàn” records him as having taught nearly 30 years, expert in three Classics, with a Shàngshū jíyì 尚書集義 to his credit. He is principally remembered for his Jiǎntú zhī lì 檢圖之例 (1 juàn), the worked-examples appendix to Sīmǎ Guāng’s 司馬光 phonological chart-book Qièyùn zhǐzhǎngtú KR1j0058 — which Shào composed because the earlier jiǎnlì in circulation conflicted with the charts and could not (he thought) be Sīmǎ Guāng’s. From Wáng Xíng’s postface dated Hóngwǔ 23 (1390), Shào had died “several years earlier” — a Yuán yímín still living into the early Míng (Sìkù tíyào).
