Dèng Zhōngchén 鄧忠臣 (fl. 1080s)

A Northern-Sòng Yuányòu (1086–1094)-era official whose name appears in the Yuányòu dǎngjí 元祐黨籍 (the proscribed-faction roster of Chóngníng 1, 1102), placing him in the Sū Shì / Liú Zhì circle. Compiler and principal participant of the Tóngwénguǎn chànghé shī 同文館唱和詩 KR4h0026, the exchange-anthology produced when nineteen junior officials including Zhāng Lěi 張耒, Cháo Bǔzhī 晁補之, Cài Zhào 蔥肇, Kǒng Wǔzhōng 孔武仲 served as examination supervisors at the Tóngwénguǎn in Yuányòu 2 (1087). Dèng’s own poem in the collection has the self-note “Dīngmǎo sìyuè huán cháo” (returned to court, Yuányòu 2, 4th month, 1087), anchoring the dating. His individual collection, the Yùchí jí 玉池集, is lost; the Tóngwénguǎn chànghé shī is the principal surviving witness to his work. No firm lifedates; no CBDB entry.
