Zhèng Yuàn 鄭瑗 (fl. late 15th c.), Zhòngbì 仲璧; native of Pútián 莆田, Fújiàn. Jìnshì of Chénghuà xīnchǒu (1481). Held office as Nánjīng Lǐbù lángzhōng (Director, Bureau of Rites, Southern Capital). His critical bǐjì Jǐng guān suǒ yán 井觀瑣言 (KR3j0154) in 3 juàn — a substantial kǎozhèng work — was for centuries miscatalogued under a Sòng “Mǐnnán Zhèng Yuàn” until the Sìkù editors corrected the attribution. Zhū Yízūn’s 朱彝尊 Míng shī zōng preserves his poetic remnants and records his literary collection Shěngzhāi jí 省齋集 (no longer extant). Biographical evidence chiefly from the Hóngzhì Bāmǐn tōngzhì and Míng shī zōng.
