Shì Línghé 釋靈澈 (746–816)
Lay surname Tāng 湯, zì Yuánchéng 源澄, native of Yuèzhōu 越州 (Shàoxīng). Major mid-Táng poet-monk of the Jiāngnán Tiāntái 天台-school current, contemporary and close associate of Jiǎorán 皎然 (in the Tāngyuántóng zōngpài), with whom he travelled extensively. He was patronized in Cháng’ān by the shìláng Bāo Jí 包佶 and Lǐ Shū 李紓 — connections that gave his work circulation beyond the south. A xù by Liú Yǔxī 劉禹錫 to his ten-juǎn collection survives; the Wénxiàn tōngkǎo cites it. By the SKQS editors’ time only one juǎn survived, included in the Táng sì sēng shī KR4h0016. CBDB has no entry.
