Zhōng Huì 鍾會 (225–264 CE; Shìjì 士季) was a Cáo Wèi 曹魏 general, strategist, and xuánxué 玄學 philosopher. Son of the calligrapher Zhōng Yáo 鍾繇. He co-led the Wei conquest of Shǔ Hàn 蜀漢 (263 CE) alongside Dèng Ài 鄧艾, then launched his own ill-fated rebellion in Chéngdū 成都 and was killed in the mutiny of 264. His Sì běn lùn 四本論 is a key text in the metaphysical debate on the relationship between innate talent (cái) and moral nature (xìng). Biography in Sānguózhì 三國志 Wèishū juǎn 28.
