Chén Qíruì 陳其瑞 (fl. 1880s–1900s), Huìtíng 蕙亭. Native of Pínghú 平湖 in Jiāxìng prefecture, eastern Zhèjiāng (“浙東平湖之望族”). Late-Qīng rúyī 儒醫 — failed the regular examinations and turned to medical practice; later took up a minor magisterial-track post (巡宰 candidate, 需次) in Sūzhōu, where he directed the official medical clinic (官醫局) for over a decade. His Běncǎo cuō yào 本草撮要 (KR3ec055, 1886, with prefaces dated to 1887 / 1893 / 1901) is a working clinical pharmacopoeia that condenses Wāng Áng’s 汪昂 Běncǎo bèiyào (KR3ec038) and Wú Yílò’s Běncǎo cóngxīn (KR3ec045) — slightly larger than the Bèiyào, slightly smaller than the Cóngxīn, organised “藥為經,方為緯” (drugs as warp, formulas as weft). One CBDB entry (669369) records the name but with no dates and no confirming evidence; not assigned.
