Chén Chéng 陳承 (fl. late 11th c., Northern Sòng), of Lín’ān 臨安 (modern Hángzhōu). Senior medical officer of the early Tàiyī jú 太醫局 (Imperial Medical Office) and one of the three principal compilers — with 裴宗元 and 陳師文 — of the foundational 1078–1085 redaction of the Tàipíng huìmín héjì júfāng 太平惠民和劑局方 (KR3ed011). He also produced an important pharmacological supplement, the Chóngguǎng bǔzhù Shénnóng běncǎo bìng tújīng 重廣補注神農本草並圖經, by collating Sū Sòng 蘇頌’s Tújīng běncǎo 圖經本草 with the official Jiāyòu bǔzhù běncǎo 嘉祐補注本草, an early example of the Sòng bencao collation tradition. The biographical record is sparse; he is not in CBDB. The principal evidence for his career is his prefatory presence on the 1078 redaction of the Héjì júfāng.
