Chén Wěi 陳暐 (fl. early Hóngzhì era, ca. 1488–1505), zì Yàoqīng 耀卿, of Hénán, served as Sūzhōu tōngpàn 蘇州通判 (sub-prefect of Sūzhōu) during the Hóngzhì 弘治 era (1488–1505). With Kuàng Fán 鄺璠 (the magistrate of Wúxiàn) and the Sūzhōu literati Pǔ Yīngxiáng 浦應祥 and Zhù Yǔnmíng 祝允明 (the celebrated calligrapher), he gathered the prefecture’s stone inscriptions into the Wúzhōng jīnshí xīnbiān 吳中金石新編 KR2n0029 in 8 juan, on the model of Zhū Guī’s Míngjì lù KR2n0028. The work focuses on early-Míng inscriptions concerning local administration (granaries, water control, bridges, etc.), supplementing the gazetteer record. CBDB has no entry for him.
