Author of the Lài Jì 籟紀 (KR3h0103). Known only through the citation “陳侍中王叔齋《籟紀》” in 方以智’s Tōng Yǎ 通雅 (KR3j0066, juan 11), which preserves a substantial excerpt on the eight winds. His surname is 陳 (Chen); 侍中 (Shìzhōng, Attendant Gentleman) is an official title he held; 王叔齋 (Wáng Shūzhāi) is his studio name. No biographical entry for this individual has been located in CBDB or standard Ming biographical sources. Internal evidence in the Lài Jì preface — mourning for a displaced capital, grief over the fall of Nanjing (Báixià 白下), and the loss of family in “the change” (遭變故以來) — places him in the crisis years of the late Chongzhen reign or early Shunzhi period, and the work must predate 1641 (the presentation date of Tōng Yǎ).
