Chén Bāngyàn 陳邦彥 (1678–1752), zì Shìnán 世南 (other readings: Lǐbó 匡九), hào Chūnhuī 春暉, also Páolú 匏廬, posthumous title Wénjiǎn 文簡. Native of Hǎiníng 海寧 (Zhèjiāng). Jìnshì of Kāngxī 42 (1703). Long Hànlín career through the late Kāngxī, Yōngzhèng, and early Qiánlóng courts, ultimately Lǐbù shàngshū 禮部尚書. CBDB id 61337; Qīng shǐ gǎo j. 304. (CBDB also lists a Míng person of the same name [c_personid 206051, b. 1537] — distinct.)
He was one of the principal calligraphers of the late-Kāngxī court, especially celebrated for his small-running-script (xiǎo xíngshū 小行書) and for his yùzhì shī wén 御製詩文 transcriptions. He compiled the imperial Lìdài tíhuà shī 歷代題畫詩 (120 juan) and edited the Yùxuǎn yǔlù 御選語錄 alongside the imperial princes. Listed in KR2j0002 Yùdìng yuèlìng jíyào as a jiào kān guān 校勘官 on the strength of his then position as rìjiǎngguān qǐjūzhù Hànlínyuàn shìjiǎng xuéshì.
