Lù Yuánfǔ 陸元輔 (1617–1691), zì Yìwáng 翼王, hào Júyǐn 菊隱; native of Jiādìng 嘉定. The principal disciple of 黃淳耀 (1605–1645). After his master’s suicide in the Jiādìng sāntú of 1645 he spent five years (1645–1649) retrieving the scattered fragments of Huáng’s manuscripts from the liúlí huìjìn (‘drifting in the embers’) of the destroyed city, and assembled the first edition of the Táoān jí (KR4e0244), with a preface by 吳偉業 (Wú Wěiyè) dated jǐchǒu / 1649 from the Méicūn Jiùxuéān. Later editorial activity (with 陸隴其 and 朱彝尊’s prefaces) expanded the collection from 15 to 22 juǎn through the addition of his master’s notebooks on Confucian self-discipline (Wúshī lù 吾師錄 and Zìjiān lù 自監錄). He never accepted a post under the Qīng. He is also known for his bibliographic work Sūn lóu shūmù 蓀樓書目 and other Jiādìng local-history compilations. CBDB 81150.
