雪嶠

Xuějiào 雪嶠

Late-Míng Línjì-school Chán master Xuějiào Yuánxìn 雪嶠圓信 (1571–1647). Dharma-heir of Lóngchí Huànyǒu Zhèngchuán 龍池幻有正傳, brother-disciple of Mìyún Yuánwù 密雲圓悟; an influential Buddhist master of the late-Wànlì and Chóngzhēn eras.

Named in 譚貞默 Tán Zhēnmò’s 1657 preface to KR6j0760 as one of Tán’s personal initiators in Cuṇḍā devotion, alongside 憨山德清 Hānshān Déqīng.
