Early-Heian Japanese Shingon monk (Jp. Reigan-oshō) known principally as the teacher of 南忠 Nánzhōng (Nanchū). Travelled to Tang China in the first half of the ninth century to receive instruction in the 大佛頂 dhāraṇī apparatus and brought back to Japan its ritual codification 儀軌. The transmission underlies Nanchū’s 847 commentary Zhù Dàfódǐng zhēnyán (KR6j0182).
