Hán Yànzhí 韓彥直
Mid-Southern-Sòng official, zì Zǐwēn 子溫. Native of Yánān 延安 (Shǎnxī). Eldest son of the famous Southern-Sòng general Hán Shìzhōng 韓世忠 (1090–1151), the Qí Zhōngwǔ Wáng 蘄忠武王 of Jiànyán-restoration fame. CBDB id 667 records the birth-year 1131.
Jìnshì of Shàoxīng 18 (1148), aged 17. Career: rose through central offices to Lóngtúgé xuéshì (Dragon-Diagram Pavilion Academician); held tíjǔ Wànshòu guān (Director of the Temple of Ten Thousand Longevities — a Sòng sinecure for senior retired-or-honoured officials). Late in his career was prefect (zhīzhōu) of Wēnzhōu in Yǒngjiā 永嘉 (modern Wēnzhōu, Zhèjiāng), during which time (Chúnxī 5 / 1178) he composed the Júlù 橘錄 (KR3i0039) — the foundational Chinese citrus-monograph. Retired with the title Guānglù dàfū and was enfeoffed Qíchūn jùngōng (Duke of Qíchūn Commandery — inheriting his father’s principal title).
Also compiled the Shuǐxīn jìng 水心鏡 — a 160+ juàn compilation of Sòng dynastic-historical anecdotes, praised by Yóu Mào 尤袤 but now lost. His career is appended to his father’s biography in the Sòngshǐ.
